Few Changes in Google Maps Update:

The new interface design can be accessed by tapping your profile which is in the corner of the default view and then tap on location sharing. It looks compatible with the “Material Design 2” look that is present for other features on Google Maps. The blue bar on the top is replaced with a white bar. You can now enable location sharing with contacts and links will be listed with their details in a vertical expansion manner at the bottom. Google Maps has introduced a more intuitive “new share” text label floating action button to replace the previous slightly hidden icon of location sharing button, it also comes along with a new contact which was also hidden in the top bar before. The prompt to actually share your location with someone is also slightly different, with rounded edges to the card-like pop-up, and a fake drop-down menu (it simply opens to exactly the same mutually exclusive radio buttons the old interface had). Your own current location is also described in a floating card above, with your address and phone’s current charge. The prompt to share your location to somebody is different in the update too, with adjusted edges to the card-like pop-up, and a phony drop-down menu. Your own present location is likewise portrayed in a gliding card above, with your location and smartphone’s present battery. Another segment at the bottom better clarifies exactly how location sharing really functions: So far as we can tell, the change is delivered either via the Google Maps 10.40.2 update, which has been rolling out on the Play Store or via a server-side flag, though installing that version seems to trigger it in all cases. The next time you fire up Google Maps and go to share your location, don’t freak out if it has a fresh look. Read more:
